In
Myrtle Beach’s south end, which is decidedly quieter and
less hurried than other parts of the Strand, the
Plantation extends to resort guests a private club
atmosphere of friendly and efficient personal service, no
crowds and convenience. Guests stay in one, two,
and three-bedroom tree-covered golf villas that line
several fairways and are a short distance away from the
center of activity. Learn

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Premium Hotels, Resorts, Bed & Breakfasts

Myrtle Beach's Grand Strand offers several first- class oceanfront
and other location high rise resort hotels with golf concierges, fine dining and other
upscale amenities. There are also two "plantation resorts" -- former rice and
indigo plantations -- on the south strand which provide a relaxing vacation with stunning
views and away from the glitz of Myrtle Beach proper. Golf and gourmet dining are
available on premises, and they are near several of the Strand's premium courses including
the TPC, True Blue, Caledonia and others. Another resort property offers first-class
high-rise hotel accommodations and villas on 145 acres of private oceanfront seclusion
near Restaurant Row and Barefoot Resort's new "Fantastic Four" courses.
If you prefer to be pampered in sumptuous and even more
relaxed surroundings, choose an "Old South" Bed & Breakfast accommodation in
historic Georgetown. Your hosts may regale you with famous ghost stories, pirate tales
and other area history while relaxing on the verandah -- and you will dine on
extraordinary low country cuisine.

HOTELS, CONDOS, COTTAGES:
Oceanfront and other hotels abound from the northernmost tip of the
Strand to the south end in all price ranges. Many have excellent children's programs if
you've brought the family along. Many golf courses have on-site condos available to golf
groups, an excellent choice for golf-getaway weekends. Oceanfront cottages,
canal side and
others are available for golf groups and families. Also lower cost lodging for
cash-strapped golfers.
CAMPGROUNDS:
If you're traveling by motor home or RV, there are 12 campgrounds on
the Strand, including two state parks. Towering live oaks and swaying pines give shade to
wooded sites, and most every amenity is available. Campgrounds are available in every
section of the Strand, minutes away from golf courses, dining and entertainment. |
